What Is VoriTrans? A Screen Translator That Turns Games and Manga Into Your Native Language in Real Time

What Is VoriTrans? Its Position in One Sentence

VoriTrans is an AI real-time automatic screen translator. You select a region on your screen—a game dialog box, a manga speech bubble, or video subtitles—and it automatically recognizes the text shown in that region, translates it into your chosen language, and overlays the translation directly on top of the original position. More importantly, when the text in the region changes, the translation updates automatically along with it.

In other words, it does not translate "a single image" but rather "keeps translating alongside the content." The next line of dialogue pops up, the next bubble appears, the subtitles scroll forward, and the translation keeps pace—no need to reselect the region or press a button again. For continuously read content, this difference is the gap between "usable" and "indispensable."

How It Differs From Ordinary Translation Tools: The Translation Returns to the Screen

There are three common translation approaches, each with its own breaking point: screenshot translation must start over every time the content changes; copy-paste requires the text to be selectable, but text inside game screens and manga images cannot be copied at all; keeping a dictionary website open means constantly jumping your gaze between two windows.

VoriTrans's idea is to put the translation back where it belongs—its original position. Chinese appears in the dialog box, the translation fits into the bubble, and you can finish a line of dialogue without leaving the current screen. Translation changes from "an extra errand" into part of reading itself, and that is the most fundamental difference from traditional tools.

Three Types of Content Where It Pays Off Most

Not every piece of foreign-language content deserves installing a tool, but for the following three categories, VoriTrans's benefit is most obvious:

  • Manga: Vertical text is the biggest barrier to reading original Japanese manga. VoriTrans can recognize vertical text and lay the translation back into the corresponding bubbles, keeping dialogue and panels coherent without flipping back and forth between the image and a translation window.
  • Games: Dialogue in story RPGs, line-by-line choices in text-based romance games, quest descriptions, and interface hints—box the dialogue region and you keep up continuously. Genres built around text reading benefit most directly.
  • Images and video: Foreign-language images received in chat, text on a software interface, and subtitles already shown on screen can all be selected and translated. Note that it translates text already displayed on screen; it does not include speech transcription or dubbing.

A Few Easily Overlooked Detail Features

What decides "reading comfortably" is often not the translation itself but these peripheral designs:

  • 105 languages: Both source and target languages are within range; Simplified Chinese, Hong Kong Chinese, and Taiwan Traditional Chinese are three independent options, with wording habits treated separately.
  • 9 original layouts: From horizontal manga and vertical manga to game interfaces, subtitles, and menu lists, it can detect automatically or be specified manually.
  • Adjustable translation appearance: Font size, weight, outline, overlay display, or subtitle-style display—set it to your reading habit.
  • Glossary and custom prompts: Personal names and proper nouns can be fixed translations, translation style can be tuned, and long content stays consistent.
  • Batch image translation: A whole folder of manga images can be queued for processing instead of one by one.

Start Free, Upgrade When You Need To

VoriTrans uses a free-plus-membership model. Free accounts receive translation credits each month, usable for local translation models—visitors get 1,000 credits per month, and 2,000 after registration, valid for the current month, enough for daily reading to get started. Upgrade to membership when you need more usage: local models no longer consume credits, plus monthly credits for cloud AI models; membership comes in monthly, annual, and one-time lifetime plans, and the lifetime buyout edition is a single payment with credits that never expire. Specific credits and prices are subject to the pricing page.

The client currently offers a Windows version, available on the download page; the public Mac download is not yet open. After installation, choose your language and select a region, and your first translation runs. FAQ

Does VoriTrans support my language?

A total of 105 languages are supported, covering common combinations such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and English, as well as many minority languages; Simplified Chinese, Hong Kong Chinese, and Taiwan Traditional Chinese are three independent options. Before use, just confirm that the source and target languages you need are both in the list.

Is the VoriTrans lifetime buyout edition worth buying?

It depends on usage frequency. Light reading is covered by free credits; if you chase manga or play foreign-language games every day, the lifetime edition is a single payment, permanent use, and credits that never expire, which is more worry-free than a monthly subscription in the long run. It is recommended to first confirm with the free version that the recognition effect meets expectations before deciding whether to upgrade.

Can VoriTrans translate speech or video dubbing?

No. VoriTrans processes text already displayed on screen—game text, manga bubbles, image text, and on-screen hard subtitles are all within scope, but speech transcription and dubbing are outside its capabilities, and there is no alternative, so this needs to be clear before use.
